CAD designed and fluid dynamics simulation is used to optimise efficiency and deflect rainfall at high speeds to prevent ingress. The intake is incased with a water deflecting lip on the underside of the snorkel which reduces the chances of water ingress at all speeds. The plumbing system utilises the factory Mitsubishi airbox and piping system design to connect the snorkel. From factory this design doesn't increase the wade depth if the vehicle as it isnt sealed. Like many snorkel systems, sealant is then used with our adaptor kit to have a water tight fitment to ensure the function of a snorkel
Mitsubishi have already invested in the development of the intake system and is proven to work and retain factory warranty as no modification of original system is required. Realistically your not pushing crazy power out of your 4n15 engine and it doesn't require a 4inch intake pipe to do so. Not to mention after passing through your snorkel, the air needs to be funneled through a coss-sectional surface area system that is smaller and more restrictive than the seamless snorkel. Your as restrictive as the smallest part of the entire system and its guaranteed that the snorkel will not restrict performance.
The snorkel isn't as loud as a snorkel but also isn't as quiet as a plastic safari. The noise level would be between these two types. Window down there is decent noise and flutter nearly the same as a staino and windows up you can't hear it, your partner will be happy to have a conversation with you.
